Azureus has been running perfectly for months for me. All of a sudden I have port problems and I am firewalled!!!! I have been changing ports, but Im assuming I wont get far until I fix the firewall problem. Earlier tonite it said firewalled then all by itself it came right. Now Im permanently firewalled. I have gone into my router and made sure it was turned off there, gone into Norton Antivirus and permitted Azureus and have also made sure XP firewall has access. Still not working, stumped!!! Can anyone pretty please help me?

Could be:

Norton, it sucks, disable it.

Windows firewall. It lies, and sucks, disable it.

Torrent Headers are being throttled--doubtful, but turn on encryption anyway.

And, your local IP might have changed, and/or your router might be choking on UPnP. First, check that your local IP is the one you've entered the forwarding for in your router, and second, disable UPnP in your client and third, hard reboot your router and reconfigure.

Thankyou so much for your reply. Disabled Norton, disabled XPfirewall, checked local IP (ok), hardbooted everything (ip still the same on both router and computer). Still getting firewalled. The firewall doesnt come up for the first few minutes of starting Azureus, but then jumps in out of nowhere. Have tried many many ports through Az. turned on encryp didnt make a difference. I even removed Az and reinstalled. So frustrating after over a year of it going well!!! Where can I go to check what ports are available? Of course Im thinking first I need to get rid of this darned firewall block?

You definentley don't want to turn of your hardware firewall. I would turn it back on ASAP. That is what protects you from attacks ie. Hackers Network Breaching and a whole bunch of stuff. If you have the port forwared it will bypass the router firewall hence why the router firewall can't be the problem. What ports are you using? Make sure they are high numbers or just click Random port(if they have it on Azuerus) And than forward that.

Hi there, well I have tried everything again....

I completely reset my router to factory settings and started again. I have a Dynalink RTA770 router, the firewall is on.

I have forwarded ports correctly I think (Internet host IP-Single-192.168.1.1, forward to Internal host IP 192.168.1.##). TCP/UDP 49153-200 and also 6881-6889. Is that correct? the other options other than Single is All or subnet.

DHCP server is on Start IP-192.168.1.2 End IP 192.168.1.254
UPnP is enabled (always was when I was getting great d/l speeds
I have turned off XP firewall for now until it is up and running then I will play around with it.
I have gone into Norton Antivirus 2005 Autoprotect Exclusions and added Azureus.exe and javaw.exe. I have also gone into Worm Protection-Program Control and added Azureus (Permit all) and Java is also in there. Under General rules I have added Azureus-TCP/UDP inbound, any computer.

On Azureus UPnP is enabled. When I go and test the TCP listening ports anything I put in there is a NAT error and I am still firewalled.

I have no idea where to go from here!!!! I have read every forum there is I think and have tried the different things that people have suggested and have gotten nowhere.

By the way, I have been capped by my ISP. I dont think that makes a difference though as I have been capped once before and it still downloaded, just slow which is to be expected, I am running at about 64kbs. When I first open up Azureus it starts to d/l with a yellow face then after about 4-5mins I get firewalled. It still does d/l at about 4-5kB/s but thats it. Uploads perfectly fine though!!! DHT is disabled.

I beg for someones help!!! My cap comes off next Monday (11th) but I really dont think that is the problem.
