If I had a room your size specifically for a home theater here's the stuff I'd get:

VIDEO

Front Projector:
Panasonic PT-AE900U 720p LCD with HDMI $1,750.00

http://www.projectorcentral.com/panasonic_ae900.htm

Screen:
DaLite Cinema Contour 105" diagonal 16:9 (92"x52") High Contrast Gray $980
http://focusedtechnology.com/cinemacontour.html

DVD Upconverting Player:
Denon DVD-1930CI $350

AUDIO

Home Theater Receiver:
Denon AVR-2807 $1099
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-hhecPq0mkN0...AV2807B&g=10420

Speakers:
Energy Encore 1 & 2, Energy Encore 8 Subwoofer $1500

Add another $3K to 5K or so for wiring, cables and professional installation.

Did I miss anything?

Professional installation can run into the thousands depending on whether the room is finished or not. It also depends on whether you have a front projector and screen or a flat panel to be mounted on a wall. A lot of labor is put into running in-wall cables. Some professionals will also do video and audio calibration.

You can always get better and more expensive components but a 105" diagonal screen should do fine for your room size. If you can have good control of light in the room then a front projector is a great option.

Nope. I just upgraded to the 60 inch A2000 series Sony SXRD 1080p display. However, I'm seriously considering a front-projector setup with the Panasonic and a motorized drop down screen. I have similar room dimensions as CHEESEPIE.

I have the above Energy speakers but an older model Denon (AVR-2105). My Denon doesn't have HDMI but does have component passthru/switching.

@eatsushi:

I've seen the Panasonic PT-AE900U in action in my cousin's basement theater on a 110" screen. Excellent 720p picture with vivid colors, sharp details, and decent black levels. The lens shift feature makes it very versatile with respect to placement. He had HBO-HD and an upconverted DVD going.

Personally, I'm waiting for the Sony Pearl PJ which is 1080p.
