i was on the devhook screen with the options (umd select,etc) and i saw the firmware option it has 1.50(flash),1.50,2.00,2.50,2.60,2.71 can i pick 2.71 or should i leave it to the first one?

yea devhook only emulates those firmwares. although i would steer clear of 1.5 flash only because i dont know what it does and you dont need it. but 2.71 is the one you want. by the way have you read the stickies for devhook they are really helpful. most questions are answered in there.
