k I was wondering if I could download a copy of ps2 linux and burn it to a DVD-R or +r. then with a gameshark or AR2 method use the burnt DVD-R or +r to install...will the install still work?

I have a v8 I think. I have everything else except the install dvd's.

and does anyone know where I can get the data ribbon that goes from the laser to the mother board, mine burnt out.

you can download it over at blackcat games if its still being shared... but you NEED a mod chip to boot it.. swap magic doesn't even work with it.

well you say u use AR2... that won't work for installing linux on ur ps2
