I Just Bought An Asus P5LD2 Deluxe Motherboard....My Hard Drive Is A "Maxtor 300GB PATA" Im Really New At This But I Got All My Bios And Drivers Updated For The Motherboard. Im Running On A Windows Xp Home, And My Processor Is A Intel Pentium D 840 3.2Ghz. Now I Notice That When I Boot Up, A Message Apears "Warning U Are Using A Ultra ATA /66 Or Higher, U Will Be Downgraded 2 /33" I Dont Understand This, But I Do Notice That I Cant Move My I Cons On My Desktop And I Cant Click On Start Unless I Ult/Delete, ANd That Gets It Moving But I Cant Move Any Icon Or Files 2 Diffrent Locations, Any Help Please On 2 Solve This Problem Thanks

are you using the 80 wire 40 pin cable on the hd or 40 wire 40 pin cable?

Im Using... Well Im Not Sure But The Cables Came Marked And It The HDD One, It Has A Black Connector On Top And A Grey One After And A Blue Connector At The Bottom..

right cable as that is the 80 wire 40 pin cable. what color is the cable connector into the hd?

Its Black 2 Tha Hdd, And Blue 2 Tha Motherboard, Now I Have New Question, On My Motherboard Its Set 2 Standard ide, but it says under it SATA, But I Have PATA...There Was An Option, Where I Can Chage It "SATA+PATA, Or SATA or PATA...Now It Was On SATA..But Just 2 Try It I Changed It 2 PATA ANd My Windows Wouldnt Load, Now I Was Wondering If I Re-Install Windows With The Motherboard Setting On PATA Will That Make Any Diffrence

in the bios you should be able to change boot drive from sata to pata. check motherboard manual for that info.

Yeha I Know I Did That Changed It 2 PATA From SATA, But WHen I Loaded Windows On PATA, It Wouldnt Load My WIndows Up, Now If Change The Settings 2 PATA And I Re-Install Windows Will This Make A Diffrence?? I Mean Is That How Its Suppost 2 Be Done, Cause When I Installed Windows On The Hard Drive, The Motherboard Setting Was At SATA, Now Can That Be Whats Causing My Problem???

Ok Sorry But So, I SHould Of Changed My Motherboard 2 PATA ANd Then Installed Windows?? Just 2 Make Sure..
