This is a Roxio driver that may conflict with Nero. If you have any Roxio software installed like Easy CD Creator, it is recommended you uninstall it and run the Roxio Zapper. Run the Roxio Zapper even if you don't have any Roxio software installed as other programs sometimes install the Roxio driver:

The Nero log didn't ID the exact media used which often indicates that the DVD burner didn't have the media in its lookup table for write strategies. What brand of media are you using. Try to stick to decent quality media manufactured by Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, and Made in Japan labeled Fuji and Sony media (usually Taiyo Yuden as well).

Your burner firmware is up to date.

Many people dislike the version of Nero you are using and instead use version 7.0.8.2. Should you elect to downgrade, run the Nero 7 Clean Tool available at the link below first, writing down your program serial number of course before doing so:

Version 7.0.8.2: http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_7_premium/?845

You might also try using another program for burning like ImgBurn. Just output a folder of video (VOB) files or an ISO image file from your authoring software and then use ImgBurn to burn to the blank DVD.

You show version 7.2.3.3---What country are you in to get a version like that?

If you continue to have problems, you might want to make the Plextor DVD the master. To test, you might even want to remove the CD-R for a while to see if it works any better. I once had 2 Plextor drives and they both wanted to be boss.

Is this a prob with the newer versions of Nero 7? I just got Nero 7 Essentials, Suite 1 and I'm not going to install it until I'm sure it plays well with Shrink....any body know for sure?

I think the only version of Nero that doesn't work with DVD Shrink in terms of autoburning is 6.6.1.4. On the other hand, some Nero 7 versions have their own issues that have nothing to do with DVD Shrink.

There is no compelling reason to use Nero for burning backup DVDs. Imgburn in many respects is a better burner. However, Nero has many features other than burning that make it a very useful program.
