rename the file to M4Vxxxx.mp4 (x being some numbers) then put it in MP_ROOT\101ANV01 or MP_ROOT\101MNV01 if these folders dont exist on your psp, make the MP_ROOT folder in your memory stick root :)

It says u can convert dvds but if you have trouble post back. After you convert then do what hodgins said and rename it if it already hasnt been done.

Do you mean ripping from a UMD to the PSP memory stick, or a DVD to the PSP memory stick?

For DVD, read this http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/172920

For UMD, not sure if you can dump a UMD video to your Memory Stick, but if someone knows I am sure they will post a link. Why can't you just play the UMD, is it the wrong region?

And look around a little in future, that thread I linked to is the 7th sticky down on this forum. As you are a newbie, I'd recommend you read all the stickies, they will fill you in on almost everything you need to know for the PSP.

Peace

EDIT - sorry if I repeated anything you guys said, all those posts went up in the same minute, lol.

create a folder in the root of the memstick called MP_ROOT. Create another folder inside MP_ROOT names 100MNV01 and stick the iso's in 100MNV01. Make sure they have the properly formatted name too. m4vxxxxx change all the x's to numbers to it looks like m4v00666 or m4v00001.

Are u sure there is a folder names "MP_ROOT". If there is go inside of MP_ROOT and see if there is 100MNV01. The .mp4 files go inside of 100MNV01. Is that any better?

thats why because you cant change names on a disc. you need to right click the movie you want to watch...hit copy. copy it to your pc on your hard drive where u will remember the location. rename it. then copy it to your psp.

it sounds like u were trying to copy something to the cdrom isntead of from the cdrom. did u copy it from the CD drive to say C:\. If not there is other ways of getting it off the cd.

ok try this then to get the info off the cdrom. Go and download UltraISO. The trial version. Start it up and go to Tools. Then make CD\DVD Image. Let it do its thing while it creates the iso file. Remember where u told it to save the iso file. You can then download WinRAR and right click the iso and hit extract here. It will then extract all the contents of the iso which will be all your movie files. You will then have all the movie files on your pc.
