i have encoded AVI to SVCD with TMPGEnc free trial but there is no audio when I play it. can any one help please?
what I did in project wizzard:
step 1 - format: SVCD NTSC
step 2 - source file:
i chose '16:9 display' in "Aspect Ratio" field but i think I should have chosen 1:1(VGA). what is 1:1(VGA) anyways:D? i have no idea about this aspect ratio thing, need some help.
step 3 - settings:
video tab-motion search precision:highest quality(very slow)
advanced tab-source aspect ratio: 16:9 display video arrange method: full screen (keep aspect ratio)
step 4: left everything intact and clicked next

Create a wav file and enter that as the audio. VirtualDub does this and is free:http://www.videohelp.com/virtualdubaudio.htm For your Aspect Ratio, select Full screen (keep aspect ratio) at settings>advanced>video arrange method. Edit: for some reason, links are'nt highlighting. Just copy it.

I got the aspec ratio part but how can I make a wav and where should I enter it? I have already encoded the AVI file, can I do something about the audio after it is encoded?
It's driving me crazy, where did I go wrong?
tanx

Copy that link I gave you (it hasn't highlighted) for VirtualDub and follow it to create a wav file. Then, when you enter your video in TMPGEnc, enter the wav you created in the audio position, page 2 of the wizard, I think. As for adding the wav to an encoded file, I don't know. Possibly, using simple demultiplex but that would only be a guess. You didn't go wrong; TMPGEnc is terrible at audio. I had the same problem when I first used it.

thanks Mysty,it's working fine now, and i think i figured the problem. but i'm not sure. in the first encoding(which went wrong) somehow i got 'MPEG-1 payloud' as my video codec whereas my audio codec was MPEG-1 layer 2.
but after correct encoding i had 'MPEG-2 video' codec and 'MPEG-1 layer 2' audio codec.
any ways i'm pretty confused right now, tanx to u i got my problem fixed.
Regards
