i am thinking about downgrading my 2.71 to a 1.5 with the easy downgrader ( the one where you plug the psp into a PC and run the eboot on the PC) but i am scared of bricking. has anyone used the easy downgrader, can someone give some feedback in the success rate and my chances of bricking.
xbox with xecuter 2.6 CE mod chip with unleash X dashboard and 160 GB HDD
PSP FW 1.50 with dark alex's custom firmware!

well i down graded mine a few hours ago from 2.7 to 1.5 and it workd right away!! just check the number on your mother board!! then downgrade

it bricked mine but dont let me put u down just be carefull were u put the folders
my stuff:
Ipod Nano 2gb
psp fw2.80
ps2
nintendo ds and gamecube.

Hes talking about the easy dwongrader. sounds like you used the one you have to manually install yourself.

thanks for the feedback, i have seen alot more success than bricks so i may just do it.
by the way what does it actually do, does it only place the files or do the whole downgrade for you

it installs all the files but you have to initiate the downgrade. And thats basically trying to view photos on your psp. If you decide to do it just follow the instructions on screen it will tell how when and how to initiate the process.

some people say if u try the auto installer on fw2.80 it will downgrade it hexitnow is it true

nah its not true. we need kernel access in order to successfully downgrade and kernel access is something we dont have quite yet on 2.8. plus there is something on the motherboard that "blacklists" firmware 1.5. an exploit around that is currently being worked on tho.

I would say 10 percent chance at the most. if even that.

thanks i am thinking that i will do it, but if it goes wrong and my psp gets bricked i can't afford to buy a new one and i am stuck, that is what i am worried about
