I've made a DVD movie from a downloaded .avi file using Nero 6.6.0.19. It had my grandson performing to a song. Because the sound track had too much audience participation noise, I reduced the volume of the base audio track and added the song's sound track as background audio. However, I had a hard time positioning the sound track to synchronize with the video because the preview screen in NeroVision Express 3 wouldn't stream the video but only show a frame every 10 seconds. Am I missing some setting in Nero or is this a symptom of an underpowered system? I have a Sony PCV-RX462DS Pentium 4, 1.30 GHz unit w/256 MB of memory and plenty of hard drive space.

P.S. I also have Roxio EVC 8 loaded and it does a full stream in the preview window.

Your help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Have a nice day!

Since I haven't received any suggestions, could someone, who uses Nero 6 to author DVD's, let me know whether they have any problem seeing an uninterrupted video stream in the Preview Screen of NeroVision Express 3. Thanks.

yes, I am experiencing the same problems. Streaming in the preview mode is extremely smooth, but if an audio track is added, video preview becomes fragmented and there is no audio. The preview is smooth only when the preview starts just before the audio track or at the beginning of it. But if i click anywhere else within the audio track, the problems occur,

I'm having an AMD 1.8GHZ with 512 RAM and enough HD space, so I don't think that's a problem

Ruffpatch, which version of Nero are you using? Since I cannot get a smooth stream in the preview screen under any circumstances, I suspect that my 256 MB of RAM is the problem. However, it's discouraging to hear that your more powerful system is having problems when you add a sound track.

No sooner, than I replied earlier, did I solve the problem. I was using Nero Vision 3 (bundled with Nero 6) and then upgraded to Nero ultra 7 which has Nero vision 4 in it. Here streaming is smooth and much more flexible. However, this version has quite a bit of bugs in it and can get nagging. The video preview is slightly fizzled (stuff to do with Progressive and interlaced framing). But the video isn't a problem, Nero vision 4 still gives what no other video editing software can provide - smooth previewing. I've exported several files to DVD, and there is no problem with the output, video and audio are just the way u want them to be.
