I realise that there are a couple of threads already on this topic, but i've tried all suggestions so far with no luck. Basically the little yellow triangle at the bottom of UTorrent never goes green. I know that this is because the port is not forwarding. However I think i have forwarded it properly. I have been to portforward.com (several times) with no luck.

Some backgroind:

My router is a Linksys BEFW11S4 v4
My ISP is Tiscali (UK)
No firewall installed (other than windows firewall, but this is disabled as i read that being behind a router is enough protection in its self)
I'm using a static ip (but have tried with DHCP)

I'm really considering giving up! I feel like ive tried everything.

I've tried testing the forwarded ports on this website: http://www.whatsmyip.org/ports/
And it turns out none of the ports are forwarding.

I know i have the ip addresses right! (checked using ipconfig/all)

Someone in a previous topic with a similar problem said:

"Okay, I resolved the issue. I had to go into the modem's SUA/NAT settings and set the ports open to the IP that the modem gave to the router."

Could anyone elaborate? I'm using a Linksys modem (ADSL2MUE). Do i need to configure that somehow? Do i need to forward from my modem to router, or visa-versa?

Any help would be hugely appreciated!

One other point to note, is that port forwarding was working fine on my old modem. (Motorola Surfboard 5100 i think)

Hi cho_cho

I have the same problem than you. I joined Tiscali UK two weeks ago and the port forwading on my router do not work properly.
Router: Belkin ISP: Tiscali
Firewall disconnected. Static IP.
I tried too many things and I continue not being able to open any port.
Yesterday I disconnect the router and I went through all the Tiscali setup (firewall tap) connecting only the modem but without luck.
I think there is an issue with Tiscali modem.
I have tried another software such as bitspirit, torrent, azerous.. but the same.
Is somebody being able to open a port using Tiscali modem?
Thank you

Hi, just to let you know i was using a Linksys ADSL2MUE modem with no luck. I've just ordered a Linksys WAG54GS to see if i have any better luck with a gateway as oppopsed to a seperate modem and router. I'll let you know how it goes when it arrives!

Hi, yesterday I tried my old laptop with Tiscali modem connection and I can open ports without any trouble, so the modem and router works properly. I think the problem is coming from Norton firewall. I am going to format my new laptop and start again, hopefully this will fix it.
