i downloaded this formula 1 2006 game but in PAL format and i live in US and obviously have a NTSC ps2. i can play this game pretty well but some parts of the bottom of the screen is still cut off even after adjusting the display settings, i know this happens because probably i have a NTSC tv. is there any way to see the entire picture on this tv just like a regular game, do i need to burn the image in a different way or do i need to buy something.
i am using swap magic.

croping? all you have to do is set swap magic to NTSC.. you might have to adjust it alittle...

i changed swap magic to NTSC but still after adjusting the display settings there is still some portion at the bottom which i cannot see, i dont mind buying anything or doing anything else as long as i can play the game properly without any portion of it below the screen.

I agree.. out and out talk about piracy is maybe a little dumb.. but hey most people have done something a little dodgy in their lives even if they don't know they did it..
and to be honest, I think there is actually a law on breaking the copy protection of the games.. or decrypting. So even though you can have a backup copy of your game, by actually decrypting it you are breaking the law.. so don't preach.
The actual rule states something like "Piracy and links to piracy is not allowed" that just means no sharing copyrighted files on here or linking to them" talk about piracy is ok as long as no links are involved and you're not actually doing it here or asking someone to pirate something for you.
It's a pity that all games don't come with a screen resolution selector on them now.. as most newer TVs can operate at either 50hz or 60Hz... maybe have a look in your Tv manual and see if there's a way to switch it to 50hz?? if not, then the only way you're gonna get a good picture is to get the signal switcher someone else said about.. worth it if you plan to play a few PAL games maybe :)

lol. Yeah, if only it were that simple.
The TV is running at 60Hz, but the game's signal (at 50Hz) can't keep up with the processing speed of the NTSC TV, hence the flicker/colour issues.
Its like playing an old vinyl record on an old stereo. LP's (albums) ran at 33rps, singles ran at 45rps. If you tried to play the LP at 45rps, then the sound would be garbled & extremely fast, like a mouse on crack!

so what exactly do i need, a "pal-> NTSC converter" or a "ntsc-> PAL converter", what i have is a NTSC ps2 with swap magic, a NTSC tv and a PAL game (formula 1 2006).

you could try the pal2ntsc with Yfix patcher see if that fixes the game being cut off. Sometimes it work and other times it doesn't. You could also check to see if the game has a built it screen adjustment setting.

If you've tried that & it doesn't work, then there's nothing else you can do except buy a new TV that supports both 50 & 60Hz. Or you could try lxfactor's suggestion & look for that video convertor that plugs into your TV, but then there's no guarantee that it'll work either.
