I just used Nero recode to compress a movie after transcoding it with Nero vision 4 ( High quality and High quality 2-pass vbr settings), it stated that I was over the max for a 4.7 disk. I used recode to compress the movie to fit the disc. The burned copy starts off good but halfway through the movie my audio goes out of sync with the video.
I burned the disc @ 4x speed and had advanced analysis and high quality mode selected.
The blank disc's I'm using are verbatim's DVD+R.
here is the log.

Decided to try Nerovision and instead of high quality I let it fit to disk and therefore did not need to use Recode2. The burn was a good one with the only thing I noticed being that the video seemed to be a little larger than what my screen was set for. No skipping or audio problems. This leads me to think that the problem lies with Nero Recode2 and it's setup. Any insight or advice?

Hi JustBruin
My guess would be more of a Vision & it's settings than Recode problem.
I've only done a few large files in Vision that I had to use Recode on to fit to a DVD5 - no audios problems.
I just had my settings at automatic or standard & fast encode in Vision.
Use Recode more for regular dvd backups & no audio problems at all.
I'm guessing you are using Vison for avi's etc - can be a common problem on these type of files. Increasng the quality to High could have thrown Vision off since the other settings didn't.
Vision is where the audio & video becomes 'uncompressed' to transcode to a dvd compliant file. Should be hooked up at this point
Some programs handle it better than others - Nero seems to have more problems but hey aD has a whole forum for Nero so that may be why :)
You did bring up a good point - if the problem is w/ these high quality settings (does make the file larger btw) Vision may not be able to compensate for it But what is your audio setting ? May point to someting.
Since yuu saved this project to your hard drive to burn w/ Nero Recode - if it's still saved now - look here for the files from Vision - see if these files have any audio problems:'my documnets'>nero vision>imported video Or where you saved them directly.
Keep us posted

Thanks for responding Binkie...Once I burnt a good copy i removed the log in question so there's no way of checking it at this time. If I come across the same circumstances I'll post the log and maybe you can see where the problem lies..Thanks again
