Hi,

I have a dual router configuration on my ADSL line to enable me to share my Internet connection with multiple computers. My ADSL router has one Ethernet port which goes to the WAN of my D-link router.

The gateway of my 'internal' router is set as the IP of the ADSL modem router. Internet wise everything works fine - I can share the connection between all of my PC's fine.

The problem comes when I try to set it all up to work with Bit torrent. On the ADSL modem router, I forward the relevant port to go to the IP address of the internal router and then on the set up for the internal router, I forward the same port to the actual IP address of the PC that is using Bit torrent.

In this configuration, Azureus comes back with a 'NAT error' - obviously claiming that my ports aren't open. As far as I can see they are, but I know I must have done something wrong. Does anyone have a set up similar to this? What am I doing wrong?

I know that with just the ADSL router plugged into my torrent PC, it hooks up fine.

Any ideas?

What the...er...who now?

Why the bajeebus would you do this this way?

Throw the second router out the window and get a HUB. I'm surprized you got any connectivity at ALL, lol. DHCP 2x is not your friend.

Static? Dynamic? What's wrong with your torrent? Tweaks? Fixes? Troubleshoots? All that and more...

This set up was for security reasons and worked a treat when I bought all the kit back where I used to live when I had proper cable BB.

The link to sort this out is here:

BTW, connectivity was fine other than Bit Torrent trying to route through two NAT routers. I didn't have two x DHCP - its not necessary.

Turns out I have to buy a new modem router because I ran out of ports the above way.

Thanks
