You know...this is wierd...I was a total evangelist for SlySoft too, but it was their update failures around last November that brought me to the AD site in the first place.
Previous to that I had NO PROBLEM ever with AnyDVD. Just recently I sent them information on a disk problem and did get a request back from them for more information. Since then nothing...NOTHING BUT FREAKING SAW 3 coming out that is...
I am afraid they must be overloaded right now and I am pretty sure that Narcismo is right and the production companies are aiming at the "Big Dog" who bit them. It may take them a little time to get back in gear if they were the primary target for encryption failures.

well its about time slysoft came though, just got this email
Dear valued customer,
we would like to inform you, that a new version of AnyDVD
has been released. Here the list of fixes and improvements:
6.1.1.3 2007 01 26
- New: Added support for new versions of the SONY Arccos protection
to the option to remove "Protection based on unreadable Sectors"
- New: Added workaround for some drives (e.g. TSSTCORP DVD-ROM
SH-D162C) where disc insertion was not always correctly detected
by AnyDVD and decryption would not work.
- New: Added UDF 2.5 support to the UDF parser.
- New: AnyDVD status window shows larger volume names
- New: Recognizes HD-DVD video discs and correctly displays
HD-DVD volume names
- Change: Increased the number of possible errors on one disc
- Change: Increased the number of possible sector and file replacements
on one disc
- Fix: Removing Sony Arccos at the end of a title did sometimes
caused a "Navigation Pack error" or could cause the title to
disappear completely in elby CloneDVD.
- Fix: Short titles with read errors (Arccos) at the end of the file
were not handled correctly (e.g., special features in "Mirrormask",
Germany)
- Fix: Bug introduced in 6.1.0.7, disc recognition did not work
correctly
- Fix: Bug introduced in 6.1.0.7, driver could switch into safe mode
without reason
- Some minor fixes and improvements
The update is free for all registered customers, of course.
Just install the new version on top of your current version,
regardless which version you have installed:

aabbccdd, really, ah crapola, I didnt get mine yet, did you say they sent you an e-mail about the update, or did you get an auto update at start of computer like always, cause if they send you e-mail about update thats odd cause I never heard of that before, unless you have some pull or friends there lol.

If you don't get update emails, and especially if you've never heard of them before, you must not be a legal owner of AnyDVD! A legal owner always gets emails about updates!

Well I'm a legal owner of AnyDVD and never have recieved an email about available updates. A pop up tells me when a new one is available. I must have opted out of email messages.

like I said maybe abcd has some pull with the slysoft guys lol, anyway, aabbccdd, no sooner after I got off the tread I got the pop-up to ge the upgrade, alright, finally, went to get my saw3 copy to give it a shot but my kids were watching it, soooo i gooootaaa waaaiiit. Damn kids.

I'm a legal owner and get the pop-ups as well as the email updates...there might be a way to turn the email feature on if you are interested in it garmoon.

ok.........sorry to accuse. I don't remember ever seeing an opt. out from emails. I've just always gotten them, and since most people I've seen mention an update, said they got their email announcing it, I thought everybody got the emails.

Got my movie back, saw3, success, YES, I knew I could rely on AnyDVD and clone, a little late is better than never, and so much easier than all those crazy configurations with all those other programs, it was worth the wait. Sirau Sirau Lionsgate.

i doubt that slysoft would send everyone an e-mail at the same time.
if everyone tried to update at the same time it would proably crash their server.besides they're busy like every other business providing a customer service. ya gotta cut em a break. thanks aabbccdd and ireland for the heads up.
we knew they'd come thru :-)

Yeah I've really had no problem getting updates w/o the email, so I see no need to worry about it. You missed all of the excitement with Saw3? You're not posting much lately. Sorry to see that.

I'm new here and new to the whole thing. I have AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 (trial versions) and have backed up about 30 so far. I ran into trouble with SAW 3, and thought maybe my programs were messing up. I downloaded the update to AnyDVD, but it still didn't work.
I tried countless other programs and nothing worked. Then, I tried copying it with Clone and Any running in the background and was able to get the main movie....
I will buy the programs when the trials are up because this is just incredible!
Hope to learn as much as I can....
