Hey guys I just finally finished my one hour film but ran into a major issue. My audio is out of sync with the video.

I started it in Adobe Premiere Elements 1.0 where I exported the whole movie out, then I used VSO DivX To DVD to convert it to dvd format then I used DVD Shrink to burn it to DVD. I was gonna use Nero but the file was too large for the dvd. (This was just to watch to make sure it works on dvd before I use Adobe Encore to make menus and stuff)

Now is there something I did wrong? Did I use the wrong DivX to Dvd conversion program? Also I used credits at the end but instead of being three seconds long they all rushed by at ten frames each. I'm freaking out if I cant get this to work.

When exactly did the sync. problem occur (e.g. before encoding, after encoding, after burning)?

I would have to say after encoding cause it worked fine after I exported it from Elements as one file and played it in windows media player, and during the conversion I noticed a little error message tha kept coming up but cant remember it.

O.K.. Let's say the sync. problem and the speed problem both occurred after encoding. In that case, you may try first check for and correct errors contained in the exported video with something like AviFixed (if it's an AVI) or VCDGear (if it's an mpeg), then try convert with VSO again:

AviFixed: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/AVIFixed.htm

VCDGear: http://www.vcdgear.com/

Don't hesitate to post again if you still get problems.

Good luck!

I got the programs but does this AVI fix for work for dvd files after I convert it? I mean will it it open all those VOB files or is just for AVI files?

The avis BEFORE encoding. Also, remember to back up the original avis first 'cos sometimes the process might back fire.

I see, but the problem is after I export from Elements and before I convert it I watch the AVI in Windows Media Player/Winamp and the file works fine with audio in sync. Are you saying theres an error in there that wont allow it to convert it although it seems normal?

Do you use MSN Meesenger? I'm Viper998@hotmail.com if we could talk. Thanks again.

Yes, videos often contain errors that do not show at playing, but will affect encoding. So I'm suggesting to check for and correct errors first. The process only takes less than a minute, so there's nothing to lose. But if the video does not contain errors, I'll give you some other suggestions. So I'm suggesting we do it one step at a time.

Okay hey, theres this feature on Adobe Elements I didnt see, when you export the whole thing out I was doing it as AVI, but you can export it out as dvd to a folder then burn later so I'm gonna try that first but plan on using Adobe Encore to make menus where I hear the film file has to be AVI where they then convert it so Ill try it after.

Good news, in Elements I exported it to a DVD folder then used DVD Shrink to burn it and everything was fine with the sync so the problem was the conversion with VSO DivX to DVD. All I need now is to use Encore to make one wiht menus.
