I have a radeon x1300pro 512mb 256mb onboard memory graphics card. I use my computer mostly for gaming. this card has a serious problem with overheating. it came with a tiny heatsink on it that clealry does very little i was wondering if anyone could provide help on suggesting a realitivly good heatsink thats not outrageously expensive. Also on installing it it appears that the heatsink i have now on it has four plastic prongs that go through the graphics card to keep it in place im assuming when installing a new one i would simply remove those four prongs and place the new heatsink into it is that correct?

When evolution selects its agents, it does so at a cost, makes demands in exchange for singularity, and you may be asked to do something against your very nature. This force, evolution, is not sentimental. Like the Earth itself, it knows only the hard facts of life's struggle with death. All you can do is hope and trust that when you have served its needs faithfully, there may still remain some glimmer of the life you once knew.

You're sure it's overheating? Despite the Heatsink size, I wouldn't have thought an X1300 would be too bad. I'd only class that card too hot if it regularly exceeds 80 Celsius. That cooler suggested, while effective, is a bit excessive. This should do:

ok thanx but i am pretty sure its overheating because i recently moved my computer from the basement upstairs and the upstairs is warmer than downstairs and thats when this problem started to occur. It also tends to occur more frequently during the heat of the day 12-3pm

AH right it probably is then. You shud be able to use the overdrive panel of the catalyst control panel to monitor the temperature.
