im running Nero 6.6 i encoded dvd to cd encoded fine it burned good its an AVI file played good in pc but cd-r wont play in dvd player tried different dvd player same result can not find file any help thanks in advance

did you convert the AVI file with Nero to a DVD or a CD? don't understand what you did.... and did it play on the computer or did the file play on the computer? don't know what played on the computer. it's just hard to understand what you did and what happened..... show some Nero logs please.

hi ihoe yes encoded to a cd-r with nero6.6 from a DVD-R the cd-r played on the computor but not on the dvd player dont know how to show log hope this helps thanks again

If you're making a Video CD (VCD) then you have to make sure that your player will play a VCD. Read the manual to see if it will. My DVD player will play CDs, DVDs, VCD, MP3s, DVDMP3s, and JPEGs .....my old player would not play MP3s or JPEGs at all.

this is what my dvd player reads / dvd / mp3 / cd / cd-r / cd-rw / picture cd player not sure if VCD and cd-r are the same thing? if so it should play thanks

No. It seems like your DVD player does not play VCD. just use Nero to make a exact copy from dvd to dvd.
