My cousins got a psp white and it doesnt say ta-082 in the top right hand corner so is it ok to downgrade it?

erm what firmware is it settings/systemsettings/systeminformation
it it a TA (open the UMD disc drive and look at the top right hand corner where you can see the motherboard and see iff it has silver writeing there
