Hi ? Sorry to bother you guys, but I?m a bit at a loss here.
I recently bought a pack named ?PSTwo Slim Tool XCM Pro V3 with Swap Magic Coder Plus?. I apparently managed to install the Slim tool properly on my Model 75001 Slim Playstation 2, since Swap Magic and regular PS2 games actually boot.
My version of Swap Magic is the very latest (3.8).
I followed all the directions given on thread http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/368258 for creating a back-up of Playstation 2 games (I had, however, previously backed up my games in ISO and mdf/s form, so I did the procedure copying them from a virtual drive to my real one ? I don?t think it?s relevant, but you never know?). I used Nero and Fujifilm DVD-Rs for this process.
The games I tried to back-up were Suikoden 3, Suikoden 5 and Kingdom Hearts 2 (all were NTSC format, and I have a US slim PS2, so there ought to be no issues from that side of the equation).
However, this is when it turns bad: I did manage to load Swap Magic, but when I open the console to change games and hit the X key twice to start on ?normal?, I either get two messages:
- For Suikoden 3, I get ?error reading game?
- For Suikoden 5 and KH2, I get the red screen ?Please insert a Playstation 2 format game?.
Anyone has a clue as to what I did wrong? Should I use Verbatim DVD-Rs instead of Fujifilm? Should I rebuild the ISOs?
Any and all help would be gladly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Skyduke

PS: I did go through the FAQ before posting - I hope it shows. :)

You should just of burnt the original iso/mdf's that you had without mounting them & making new isos.
Could be you had a problem with making a copy of a copy.

Sorry, another thing - it seems I get the message "Insert bigger toc disk" when I put in a DVD after swapping the initial Magic Swap one out. Is it true this means I have not installed the slim tool properly? I did have a few problems getting in that stupid last "C" piece.

Yeah, that C tool is a pain. To know if you have it correctly inserted, open the cover of the disc drive and turn it on. If the laser moves, it's in right. I also heard alot of people have problems with 3.8 Could be that. My 3.6 never gave me any problems on either of those games.
