The choice of either the highest model in the dual-core system, or the 2nd to lowest one in conroe.
Bascially, I need a processor that can let me handle multitasking, so I can burn DVD's; Use Photoshop, Dream Weaver, and Illustrator all at once; Video edit, as well as sound, and play games like WoW.

As for Video cards, I went through a list from Newegg with video cards that cost around 80ish that have the HDTV output, as well as SLI and Crossfire.
Of the two, the ones that I figured I might want are the:
($80 AR)
Sapphire radeon X1600PRO 256mb 128-bit GDDR3 Overclocked edition with
its memory clocked to 1200mhz(heard its actually around 1350ish)

The E6400 will mop the floor with the D950, go Conroe (or specifically, Allendale).
Those graphics cards, while fantastic value for money are a bit slow. They'll do OK in WoW and FFXI, but for good performance and, more importantly performance in the future, I'd recommend:

Alright, I know that overall, conroe is suppose to be the best in intel right now. However, how exactly does it compare to Pentium D? The clocking abilities for conroe are suppose to be excellent, since the FBS is on a different level. Overall, I guess I'll go and buy the E6400. As for the video card, I'll have to look over it alittle more. The card is a GT model, and it does say that it has Next-Generation Superscalar GPU Architecture, but I duno if I realy need it. Whats so different about from other cards?
The Conroes are far better than Pentium Ds, stock or overclocked, and overclocked theyre even better. The 7600GT is just an all round faster card, for almost every reason of the lot.
