I have a linksys wrt54g V5 with dd-wrt v23 SP1 micro installed on it for my firmware.
My ISP is windstream.
We are going to use Azureus here to decide what our problem is. I have it set to port 65527. I have port range 65527 to 65527 forwarded to my machine's static IP. I have DMZ on. I have done everything in the world. I have windows firewall off, I do not have AV. I have read everything on teh internet, called my ISP to see if they blocked ports, and everything. There is nothing that I can think of that I have not done.
My girlfriend has a linksys WRT 54 g that works with perfect NAT and sharing ratio. Mine doesn't even register NAT and I can't share. My DHT claims to be firewalled. Sooo...
I am lost. ANy help would be awesome. Thanks!

Use Utorrent! Much easier to use, none of the problems your speaking of. As long as you have set a static IP and have forwarded a port properly, you will be fine using Utorrent. Try the prog, im pretty sure you will have better results.

And while we're at it, lets stop using the "Switch to uT fix??!!":
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/390475
People need to stop telling users to do this!!,theres a low chance of it doing anything close to helping...

Lol...yes it was.
And Rav I agree with you. Utorrent is basically the same as Azueres just doesn't use as much resources. But Azueres is more User Friendley and some diffrent options. Switching to UT with a problem like that won't do sh*t

Exactly, what it will do is waste time and hastle you, thats why we need to stomp down on it so people don't use it as an answer :-)

Okay. I disabled distributed db, tried port 1720 wiht no success, and then changed to port 50221, still no dice.
I can max out download very easily. I just cannot ever get uploading above 555 bps. Which is atrocious. And it still says my NAT is unreachable.
(I also turned the encryption on.)
I am completely confused.

We were stating facts that you think switching from one client to another will fix EVERYTHING. YOu didn't even know what a torrent was untill like a month ago. You act like you know everything come on man. Just chill.
Why do you have to attack me personally? 3 other people stated your statement was false.

Whoa, Ok, even though you have offended me and Dan & Tocool, I'd like for you to calm down, it wasn't my intention to make you mad, but you did post telling him to switch torrent clients, which is utter rubish and will do nothing but cause the user stress.
Please realise you were in the wrong and take it lightly, theres no need to call us kids, sh*t talkers, suck up's, etc, etc, it just causes more anoyance to all of us...its life buddy, you can't be right all the time, when your not just accept it, we all try to be friends here :-)
I'll just let your offensive comments slide off my back and forget this whole fiasco ever happend, peace.
I will say no more, this is one for the mod's fellers.
EDIT:
Sorry, but this is also false info:
Quote: is banned by many trackers? If thats what you mean, yes its awesome!
Its not banned from most trackers, infact most reccomend it, theres no need to start a flame war over client choice, thats one of the many reasons why I and others have started to stop people using the uT fix, as its peoples own decisions to what client they use, we let them use what they want, not try to convert them to uT, doing this only creates a stir!

Yes Exactley Rav. I just don't understand why he attacks me when 2 other people said his statement was false. IS it because I'm 14 and he thinks he can beat me at everything. ITs not hard to say "oops I made a mistake " or say something like "Sorry I lead you in the wrong direction*

LOL, now i know why i do not frequent these formus much anymore
You first step to solving your problem would be to go to the Azureus home page and look through all the guides they have. If you have done all those things already then i appologize.
I do not know alot about DMZ but i do know that it will cause some programs that access the net not to work (like the Steam client).
You should not NEED to forward ports or set a staic IP to get a torrent client to work.
Some routers it may help but not all.
People tell others to try Utorrent for 2 basic reasons
1. it uses less resources on your computer and it is generally faster because of this.
2. Azureus is blocked by a lot of torrent sites, and most of the good private trackers.
have you tried any other torrent clients or sites?
have you read all the info at portforward.com which could really help you set up everything.
there are so many factors involved when it comes to networking that it will take time for people to narrow down the problem, so even if you think you have tried and read everything you most likely have not.

Ok, theres no need for that, calling us @$$holes is a bit un called for, I don't think I have ever spoke a word like that to a user on this site ever, all I did was try to calm you down and mellow the situation, I'm sorry for whatever I may have done to make you act this way...
I do hope you re consider that post, just take a break buddy..
No hard feelings, I suppose people take things differently, again, my sincerne apoligies for whatever I have done that have prompted this sort of behavior, though you post abuse towards me and others in this thread, I'll still prefere it if you could just calm it and we could have peace..
cheers.
EDIT:
@Stiemy,
Quote: People tell others to try Utorrent for 2 basic reasons

2. Azureus is blocked by a lot of torrent sites, and most of the good private trackers.
Well, 2. is incorect.
And if someone is happy with Azureus let it be, it has its benifitts over uT, theres no need ti pimp certain clients, just creates flame wars like this one doesnt it, Azureus is a GREAT client, I use uTorrent, its also GREAT, but if someone is using one or the other, telling them to convert is unlikely to solve anything, unless they are asking for a minimal resource client...

no offense Rav, but #2 is 100% corect
there are quite a few torrent sites out that that will ban you for using Azureus. Like i said most good private sites have ban it.
azureus is a good client, i use it myself from time to time. But on the private trackers i know it is banned so i had to switch to Utorrent

Steimy I just checked on 3 of the most popular private trackers: Torrentleech, Demonoid, and Torrent Damage and they didn't ban Az. Aslong as you have the latest version you'll be fine.

You were just telling me to turn of upnp inside of Azureus, right?
None of that is working, if so. I am going to TRY utorrent because I have plenty of time and I like the "hassle" as well. So it's all right. I understand why you don't think it will work, because it doesn't make any sense that that would work. But hey.
So anymore help would be appreciated. I am still completely stumped.

@ Andrewjb : I missed what steimy picked up, the DMZ.
It might be the cause of some problems, though since i only know it has caused problems with clients of mine, and not much else, i'll leave possible solutions for that problem to others who know more about that.
Now, this is @ Stang :
Read your PM's.
@ Steimy : give me an example of a private site that bans Azureus alltogether then, cause i can name at least 6 that advise people to use either ”torrent or Azureus.

Newer version of the client may have stopped the ban from many of the private trackers. But when i joined a few like Torrentleech and Bitsoup they all had very large messages on their home pages about being banned if you used that client.
For those in the know it was due to a hack called the "Shu" mod
which would pad your upload rate to make the tracker think that you were uploading a lot more KB/s than you actually were and so you would really need to seed for only a very short time to be 1:1
But all this is completely beside the point.
try turning off the DMZ
or try using a "clean boot" if you are using XP. This will cause the computer to start with only XP processes and will tell you if some other thing running in the backround is causing the problem. It is totally reversable if it doesn't help
To do this go to Start-> Run-> and type msconfig
go to the "services tab and check the box that says "hide all Microsoft services" and then hit disable all sfter it hides them.
Then go to the next tab over "startup" and disable all there as well
then hit apply and it will tell you that you need to restart, so choose to restart
then try the client.if it doesn't work and you want them all back the way they were do the same thing except do "enable all" and restart
but i would try turning off DMZ first as it is the easiest thing.

Ive yet to find a tracker that bans azareus but many dont like it due to the fact that many use modded/hacked azareus clients to send fake upload packets ;)

Lol you guys make me giggle.
SVT musta been having a bad day, he's usually pretty cool.
Now for what you do and don't know about Azureus.
1. Shu mod is easy to detect. Very, very easy. Try it on bitmetv. Dare you.
2. uTorrent has its own "non-reporting build" that has, most likely, a LOT more users than the shu mod.
3. You can make your own non-reporting client out of Azureus or uTorrent in about 5 seconds, but no, I won't tell you how to do it. (unless you paypal me a lot of money, lol.)
4. I'm more than what you might call a powermember at bitsoup and I've never, ever seen anything about Azureus forcing bans. In fact, I don't know any blackhats who recommend anything OTHER than Azureus, uTorrent being the point-and-click-and-forget type client.
5. You'll get banned off of any tracker if your ratio suddenly goes up 100gb overnnight, Azureus mod or whatever. Believe me, right now, I could go to any tracker and have 500 terabytes of upload credit in 10 mins, probably more like 2 minutes, but yes, I would get banned fast.
6. I wish you people would get it out of your head that Azureus is a "resource hog." Back in the 1.x days, it did--but it was an issue with the JRE--NOT Azureus. I never see my footprint of Azureus get very big, and I bring down probably about 100gb a week. uTorrent is sleek and sexy and yes, I recommend it. However, for noobs, I recommend the original client even more. But I digress--uTorrent has some sloppy sidenotes that you'll probably never notice if you're not a poweruser, but believe me, it does ugly things to your registry and deleting the .exe does NOT delete the program.
7. Azureus is open source. Let me repeat, Azureus is open source. Open source > all. Good day.
8. If uTorrent ever added plugin support and actually went open source like they SAY they're gonna do, I'd consider reinstalling it. My Azureus is a lot better trick pwny than your uT, so put your deprecations back in your mouth there you naysayers.
Now, with all that said, yes, I often recommend uT to those who are new to the community. But, for the 525,600th time (twice that if you count the times Rav and I have said it), we're not here to advocate clients or say one is better than another, because every single user has different needs and desires. Now when ya'll truly want to mount up your nerd possee and learn just exactly what you can DO with a torrent client, you come beg me to share my Azureus trickery with you, and you won't be dissapointed.
BTW---nerd possee...I mean...you wanna bring your nerd possee to my nerd possee...nvm..it's a good thing, I'm not making fun. This whole post is lighthearted in its intentions. Me and rav are gonna take over the world imo.
<<<EDIT>>>
Dang you guys got me so fired up I forgot to post the solution, being as I do reign as the supreme torrent fixinator in this here board.
You've got a firewall sir--of some kind. You're only allowing one-way traffic, which is normal for a firewall to cause...it doesn't want people getting your upstream. Sounds to me like the windows firewall, but lord only knows what else you've got installed there. That is, of course, assuming that you're trying to upload torrents that still have a good swarm of leechers.
