I installed devhook 0.46 using the ultimate installer. I used devhook to run my iso's. But i checked the umd loading and it did not run anymore. I noticed this after I played aroung with the flash in that devhook program. A blue screen came up with alot of white text. I forced restart and checked the firmware and it was at 2.0, yet I could still use homebrew from the game folder (meaning it was still in 1.5). I used mph downgrader to put the 2.0 back to 1.5. I loaded devhook again but it still would not load the umd. I tried different umds but it still would not work. I restored and reformatted the memory stick but still the same problem. I upgraded to 2.0 tried to run a umd (GTA liberty city stories) but still nothing. I downgraded back to 1.5 but no results. I tried using a different version of devhook (v.0.44), but still the umds refuse to load. I tried running untold legends (a firmware 1.5 game) without any iso loaders in firmware 1.5 but still nothing.
The umd drive-- when loading a disc it tends to make clicking noises. This happens everytime i put in a umd--regardless of firmware version.

I'll be in the darkness,.......trying to fix my PS2

Check the laser lense on the UMD Door. There might be dust on it, even though it sounds like your UMD Drive is shot.
