I dont know if this is the right place to ask this, but I have a question in connection with the PS2 and DVDs:
I have a modded PS2 and recently I've tried to watch a copyed DVD on it.
But it couldnt play it. I've tried an original DVD as well, but there were no problems with it.
My question is: is it possible to play copied movie-DVDs on a PS2? If yes, then what can be the problem with my DVD?
(I've read a few threads in this topic, but I think my DVD IS in DVD format)
if you have a modded ps2,i.e modchip,most of them need to be put into dvd mode
mine for example needs the power button held for a few seconds whilst turning it on
Hursty, you were right, I had to put it into DVD mode, by pressing reset for a few seconds. And the movie WAS in DVD format, so that was no problem. Thx again
all ps2s can play backup/burned dvd movies out of the box (just like any other standalone dvd player) but, if you do have a modded ps2 then in some cases (like ps_gamer) you need to put the mod in dvd playback mode (which usually means turning the mod off)
