I am currently trying to transfer a video file dowloaded onto a DVD disk, but the file isnt transferring. A message appears displaying that the disks need to be empty, but they are. When i play the disk in windows media player i can hear the film, but not see it.

Hey,

You may need to install the K-Lite mega codec pack, this will allow you to see your video file.

K-Lite Mega codec Pack 1.58

http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Mega_Codec_Pack.htm

How are you trying to transfer it, what is the file extension of the video file and what do you want to do with it?

Cheers,

Yours Truly; Rav

Hi Lullabell,

I'm always here :-)

First of all, from what I understand, you have a file you want to burn onto a DVD, please help me help you by giving me some more info.

What is the file type of the video file you wish to burn to DVD, what do you want to do with the DVD (ie. play in home DVD player)?

Cheers.

Yours Truly; Rav

Navigate to where the file is, right click it, select properties and read the bit where it says "Type of file".

instead of multi-posting like this, it would be quite appreciated if you would go back and edit your last post until some responds; or at least make your posts longr with more information.

when you say windows movie, what do you mean? i think of a few variations off-hand. just tell us what the extension is, and we'll go from there.

in other words, it's an mp3. that's not a video file, that's an audio file; just like most music you download and can burn to disc to listen to in your car or whatever.
