I ripped it using DVD shrink. all i took was the Main movie. problem is on my ps2 it does not play. i copyed MR. deeds with the same program and it was no problem. Will it matter if i have other files in the VIDEO_TS folder? i put a game in there by mistake. and when i play it on my computer the disk autoboots and says play dvd video. i say yes and it says its an unsupported codec. Please help me out. Thanks
One way to find out is to re burn the matrix on a disc on its own. I find it strange that you can spare space on a dsic to fits games on it. Are you not interested in the quality side of it?
What media are you using, PS2 tend to like the cheap media, and DVD players tend to like the more expensive Ritek G03's G04's etc...
I think what he has done is he *(im assuming he) has ripped a movie into a folder tha already included a game in it. However, he did not burn the game on to the disc that he burnt the movie on to. Am i right so far Tony? If the game is not on the disc, then it is more likely a media problem.
BaaBaa - when you said about the Record Now Max, do i create a folder called Video_TS and then copy all my files into it or do i just drage my files into it and record.
BaaBaa, hiya m8. I am also interested in how you burn on Record Now Max. I get my delivery of discs tomorrow so will be having a play about with backing up my DVD's. I think I will go the way of DVD Decrypter, DVD2One or DVD Shrink and then burn using Record Now Max (or is Nero better ?).
I am ok with the DVD Decrypter bit and the DVD2One bit but was just a bit unsure about the burning part.
As Oriphus said :
"BaaBaa - when you said about the Record Now Max, do i create a folder called Video_TS and then copy all my files into it or do i just drage my files into it and record."
Would be really really grateful if you could help m8.
I also use RecordNow Max. I create a VIDEO_TS folder with everything from DVD2One or DVD Decrypter, and also create a blank AUDIO_TS folder. I then select data DVD from RecordNow and drag those 2 folders in.
Bada-bing- it's done. I also have good success with playing these discs in DVD players that state "DVD-R is not supported."
I have a VIDEO_TS folder residing on my desktop.
(before ripping/processing - already there)
Rip with dvd decrypter
Process with dvd2one/dvdshrink - (VIDEO_TS as my destination).
Processing done......
I now just open recnowmax
select data
change volume name
Make sure multisession is on new volume....
Add VIDEO_TS folder (from add files - but do not open file)
hit the red spot - and burn
(oh - obviously insert blank dvd first LOL)
You can also go into tools/options/data and check the recognise AUDIO_TS/VIDEO_TS folders, this means it will definately burn dvd format as set in options....
Just make sure in the options after you have selected data, that the dvd section is on Track at once TAO - CLOSED, if you choose the other option it probably won't finalise - now some players will play them unfinalised BUT to be sure TAO - closed....
I do not use AUDIO_TS - no need, everyone says it helps for compatibility - I have never come across this missing causing problems. (opinion)
If you need any more info, start a new thread, cos this is way off topic - (no offense)
As for the Matrix - Yes I seem to have got the wrong end of the stick.
Do what Oriphus suggested - Just burn the movie to the dvd....(the game bit loses me)
Cheers ken0042 and Baabaa, your help is very much appreciated and sorry for going off the topic. I am still getting used this this forum and how it works but it is great. Thanks !!
