hey i just downloaded a movie and got the subtitle files as well. i extracted the subtitle file and VOB seemed to automatically recognize the idx files as subtitles because to the right of the icon, under the file name it says "Subtitle File". The problem is I cant get the subtitles to show up in VLC player. Does VLC support idx files? What are you guys using to make the subtitles show? I've made the file names the same for both the AVI and the idx but when i open vlc, go to open file, check use a subtitle file, browse, and then select OK, this is what it says: Unrecognized format for 'F:\New Folder\The Da Vinci Code CD 1.idx'ive even tried the same method using the .sub files that came in the download but even that doesnt work.

Can someone pls help me figure this out and tell me what im doing wrong or what i should use instead? I think Windows Media Player is already out of the options because for some reason whenever i open an AVI file with it my computer randomly restarts. Would really appreciate some responses and advice on how i can easily get subtitles to show...
