i have a quick noob question i been looking at modchips and notice that they come with a Laserfix from what i understand you have to install this inorder for your ps2 laser not to burn out correct? One last stupid question if i go with a swap magic 3 coder us verision do i still have to install a laserfix?

No you don't. But I'd advise you NOT to get the coder version, it has issues. Get v3.6

yes,laser fix is onlt required for ps2's with modchips fitted on the slim ps2's (v12).
i think sony fixed this issue on v13 and above,cant quite remember
