why didn't he use the 2.60/2.50 downgrader and then emualate fw 2.80 then play his game.

because jap fw has totally different patches for example wen a downgrader has been found thay dont patch it with the next fw they patch it in games so it might brick your psp

if he's played those games its REALLY RISKY!!!!! to downgrade but if he hasn't IT'S OK and yes its the same with all fw and downgraders with jap fw hes the real lowdown:
jap fw-patches in these games splintercell,spiderman and nfs

ask him if he say's hes played the games use the auto installer but if he hasn't go ahead and do it your way

do not risk it, as you woudnt want someone else to do that on ur psp
plus the Ta-082 mobos have a chip on which prevents the use of any lower fws.
