its not possible, unless you want to modify the firmware, which - since it needs to use flash memory, runs a small risk of bricking

i dont know (unless one of the other members here can tell us)
of a patch just to install backgrounds, but if its a change of asthetics u need :-

this is a popular choice - ir shell. read carefully into it before use, i dont use stuff like this.

Use Flashmod or XFlash, find the pic you want to have as your wallpaper and change it out. Make sure it's not larger than 300x170.

Also: name it the name of the month it currently is and put it in ms0.

This month is September. September = the 9th month.

In the Playstation format, that's "09".

(ms0 is the root of your memory stick. In other words, the first screen you see when you open up your PSP on your PC.)
