modchip that boots directly from HD?

Is there a modchip for the Playstation 2 that will either boot an OS that allows for booting ISOs from the HD or will boot directly from the HD?

I wish to circumvent the soft boot trick that I've been using for a while in the hopes of being able to deactivate and remove the disc drive.

i think the dms4 pro does that. not 100% sure though.....
