I use TMPGEnc to convert my AVI files, and TMPGEnc dvd author to burn them. The mpeg has sound, as does the converted vts and VOB files. So something is going wrong in the burning process. I forgot how to get my log info, so if anyone could possibly remind me how to do this please do so. I want to post my log info on here, so that someone may recognize the problem. Thanks in advance!

the sounds is dissapearing? does that mean you have sound and then it turns itself off? or there is no sound what-so-ever, from beginning to end.

if you have no sound at all on your computer then you didn't record the sound channel. try using Nero Vission to convert and burn your AVI file: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/356114
or: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/272946
pick your guide and try it out! you should have sound!

Also try to hit the audio button on your remote ..... this will change the audio channel and you might have success that way..... you can do the same thing with the setting buttons on your program in the computer to change to the next audio channel and see if you're successfull there! good luck

checked the audio buttons and still no sound. I know that the conversion went find because the converted vts and VOB files play on my computer with sound, but when I burn them to a disc there is no sound whatsoever........I am so frustrated right now!!!

Use a different program..... if you still have your AVI files then use Nero with the guides I mentioned above...... or you can convert and burn using other programs ..... one such program is ConvertXToDVD: http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/

There also is another thing to understand about audio channels. They come in different formats: Dolby AC-3 or DTS. Most movies come with the Dolby AC-3/6, or AC-3/2 audio channels and then some come with both Dolby AC-3 and DTS audio. You might have just picked the DTS audio and your computer plays the converted movie just fine, but your player doesn't play DTS at all.... therefore no audio! Don't get frustrated.... understand that you can convert it again and this time make sure that the correct audio channels are picked!
