got psp menu edit .2 from psp-hacks, and i'm wondering if i can edit the topmenu_plugin.rco and opening_plugin.rco of my emulated 2.71 firmware, and then put then replace them and it'll function? hopefully hex or someone has an answer for this, as i'm not sure if it'd work, i don't see why not, but fill me in anyway.

So basically you could've said, "I don't know teh answer to that, Smurff." Because you didn't really answer his question. LOL
You can't just edit those files and then just "drop" them in some folder... You would need to find out what flash files it edits and then go and do that same thing to the emu flash files.
@Smurff: Go ask Art, the author of X-Flash. I guarantee he'll know. Or, you could ask IchigoKurosaki, the author of Flashmod who originally incorporated this idea into 1.50 PSPs... (I know Art is on QJ forums, but IDK about Ichigo.)

Ummm...ya dude are you on crack. I would like to hear your justification on how I did not answer his question. He asked if he can edit those files and use them with the emulated firmware. I dont see how answering yes didnt answer his question. Theres no need to ask anyone. It can be done. Just did it myself and it worked. Plain and simple.

well when i load it up on windows and load the 2.71 topmenu, it's all scrambled, should i just try to hexedit them all? instead, or what.... i know asking Art or someone would be easier at trying to figure this out but i don't really want to go and register at anymore message boards, and i figured that maybe someone on here could help me out with this, but i guess i'll have to kep reading up on the forums at psphacks.

@Smurff:
The easiest thing I could think for you to do would be this:
You know how you can run homebrew on 2.71 now w/ the super special SDK? Welp, if you like, I can try converting (or you/I could ask someone to convert) Flashmod. That was teh original app with which you could convert homebrew so it would become 2.71 capable.
Do this and I think Flashmod would (by default) change the XMB you are currently in. So, in essence, you could trick Flashmod into changing out the 2.71 XMB as you wish it to be changed.
This is just a hypothesis, but I think it could be done.
Try it.
If you don't know anyone to ask, I can ask some ppl over at Maxconsole.
TTYL,
guano
PS: You could still ask Art or Ichigo! :)

Yea, I'll ask @ Maxconsole.
I'll go make a thread now.
In the meantime, you could go send Art a PM. He's over at QJ. If you don't have a username and pass, forget it; I'll take care of business.
Peace,
guano
EDIT:
yo, here's the thread to keep an eye on:

thanks guano, i know i should really sign up at the forums at psp-hacks, maxconsole, and QJ but thanks for the hand in this.
hey also why v3 not the newer one?
i guess you could add in the post at max that it doesn't have to be dodne via psp, i wouldn't mind doing it on PC using a hex or whatever....

v3 will work. I looked on QJ and that was the most recent. The only other one is v4 demo or something.
