Hey all, can some of you guys recommend some good shooter games.
What I mean is, some of you guys probably remember "operation wolf" for the snes and a few other consoles.
The type of game where all you have is your gun sight on the tv screen.
I have operation wolf on my ps2 via emulator and its still a good old game.
What I'm not looking for is a game where you control the figure and you can see the guy shooting.
Hope you guys get what I'm talking about.
Thanks

You mean light gun type games? The Virtua Cop series of games is good. Other PS2 light gun games include; Police 24/7, Gunfighter, Sniper, and there's a couple of Resident Evil gun games too.
You dont necessarily have to use a light gun, you can use the controller, but a gun certainly helps & makes the game more enjoyable.
Always 1st with 100% working PS2 Online Game DNA$ IDs!!

I think he means first person shooter not third person shooter. Killswitch, ghostrecon advanced warfighter, all of call of duty, all medal of honor, 007 are good two, urban chaos, that's about I can think of but I come up with more I'll let you know.
Oh also rainbow six series are also good hmm.. I come back for more.

To be honest, I don't know what first person shooter is to third person shooter but as far as I can remember with medal of honor, you could see the army guy in front of you on the screen and you also control him.
What I'm looking for is a game that all you can see in front of you is where your going, shooting as you go along, all that you can see in front of you is either your gun when you aim or just the guys that your shooting.
Would they go under light gun games?
Thanks for the reply guys

BLACK has got to be one of the top shooting games ive played, also a few people dont like it but KILLZONE is a very good game.
EDIT: Medal Of Honor is one of those controllable hand, with extensions (weapons, etc) type games.

Yea BLACK is a fps (first person shooter) and in my opinion one of the best there is, a definite must own game.

Yo black is a great game. But you can only see the gun. That is what makes it a first person shoter. If you want to see the guy with the gun that is a third person shooter. But resident evil 4 you see the guy but it is like he is at the corner of the camera the whole time so you might like that game. Resident evil 4 is a great game as well. And 24 the game is also like that. A completley third person shooter thta is good is final fantasy dierge of cerberus and it is a great game.
Some other great first person shooters are killzone, Urban chaos riot responce, call of duty series, medal of hounor series, black, ghost recon series ( I liked them but for some reason most of the reviews were horrible on it for the ps2), time splinter series, darkwatch andarea 51. There are a lot more good first person shooters but can't think of any right now but you can always go to http://www.gamespot.com/games.html?type=...owse;category;9 and search for ps2 first person shooter's and a whole bunch of games will come up.
Also if you like playing computer games I can name a lot of them as well if you like.

Hey sandisk, out of all the fps games mentioned here I would highly recommend Black, Timesplitters 2 and 3, and Call of Duty 1 and 2. Also Resident Evil 4 although that isnt technically an fps (the camera looks over the character's shoulder). Killzone is also a good one although in my opinion isnt as good as the others.

Yo wont call of duty 3 only be for xbox 360 and the pc and later ps3? Or will it be for ps2? If not call of duty big red one is the newest call of duty on the ps2 . As well Yakuza is a third person shooter but is not like gta it's main focus is the shooting. As for scarface that game look's sick can't wait till it comes out but Noamos is right it is a third person shooter but for some reason I think that it is going to be a lot like gta.

Just a quick update, I'm playing "black and gta lcs" at the minute, two excellent games.
Any of you guy know of any ps2 shooting games, as in shooting at targets ?
Like you could be standing in the same spot and targets appear, the targets could be people or even just some other type of target.
Thanks 4 the info,so far so good.

Silent Scope is quite a lot like that. You basically move from fixed spot to fixed spot, sniping targets that appear. You dont have to move the character coz the game does that for you, you just have to pick off targets on the screen. Some of the targets move around though, dont know if your looking for that....
I have Silent Scope 3 and its really good. Pretty old so you could prob pick it up for cheap.

I'd say you made a good choice on playing Black. The best fps since Time Splitters: Futre Perfect. I only have a demo of it and it was explosive. I hope to buy the whole game sometime in the near future.

I beat black it was fun but it's dumb because there are hardly any checkpoints in the game so when you die you have to re-do most of the level and the levels are long and you can't save untill you beat the level. But other then that the game is awseome.
