Hi,
First let me say that I have done a lot of reading and can't quiet find what my problem is and hence the reason I'm posting this new thread. I'm hoping that I can touch the minds out there who DO KNOW!

I have been burning for quiet some time now so, I'm not new at this. I have a Sony Duel-layer Burner which I have the hacked firmware in it, that I installed last year. I have been trying to backup MY ORIGINALS of LOST and have run into a problem. This is the first time I've ever have had this happen and it's happened to me three times in a row. I use AnyDVD and DVD Shrink on all my backing up. Everything is running smooth and then the burn process starts. The burning process is looking good, then halfway through the burning process I get a burn failure.
Any ideas on what could be causing this would be much appreciated
Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. No, it's not the burning speed or the media. I've been burning at the fastest speed it would let me with the media I have which is at 2X. I stocked up on the DVD's when there was a buy one get three free sale. Though I only have one 50 pack left, I've had no problems until now.
Again, thanks for the reply!

Please tell us the BRAND name of the discs and the media ID. You can get that information from the last log of your failed burn.

99% of all problems are between the computer and the chair.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for helping me here. The little gremlins have vanished from my computer system. I went home yesterday and put a no-name DVD-R in in my second burner that was screaming to "buy me because I do dual-layer and I'm a lightscribe and I'm only $40.00". I think it's an I/O? not quiet sure. Anyway, I used Nero since I have the files on the hard-drive and it burned it with no problems. So, I went to my next original DVD and back to the Sony burner and ran DVDShrink and AnyDVD, then used a no-name disc again and it burned that one with no problems. I then put in one of the DVD's that failed 3 times in-a-roll (Compusa DVD's only burns 2x)in the Sony (the burner that was failing)and used Nero and it burned with no problems. So, at this point, I'm not sure what went wrong.
Again, thank you for helping me out.
