Trying to rip a special feature to avi, mpg whatever

I've used about 20 programs trying to do this. First DVD Shrink and turned the feature into a iso. Then used iso buster. But when I extract the iso to mpg it gets done, but the file is always 0 k.

Then tried just copying and changing the VOB file to a .mpg file. When I did that the video is distorted, squares/pixels everywhere, and lots of beeps. So, NOW what?

Programs I have:
dvddecrypter
dvdshrink
winavi
dvd2avi
isobuster

any help would be appreciated. Trying to make one big compilation dvd with other dvds.

BTW Could this have anything to do with copyright protection? How can I tell?

You can try winavi.Convert the file to mpg or AVI directly,don't use DVD shink first.

Use Vob Blanker to rip the special feature into a VOB file. Don't convert it into AVI or anything. Conversion causes lost quality. Just use VLC and you can play the VOB file directly without any conversion.
