Okay well I just bought my friends psp
and the only reason as to why I bought it was because of the wireless internet deal
the thing is I dont have that network browser icon (world), it wasn't there when I got it from her.
how can I get that back
and how can I get on the internet!!
PLEASE HELP ME!!

Well it might be a good idea to take the memstick and reformat it using the psp. I would also check to make sure that your psp is a 2.5 or higher firmware, because I think that is when they added the browser.

It's a 1.5 firmware. Upgrade it to 2.0 or above. Better yet, get Devhook, so you can have homebrew with 1.5 and still have the ability to run ISOs and emulate 2.71.

how do I reformat it? and I downloaded the 2.81 firmware stuff but it says that its not needed cause I already have it.

Well since you have 2.81 you cant have all the perks of Homebrew, but you didnt know. And in order to reformat your stick go to Setting>System Settings>Format MemStick. And there you go, it will reset you stick, if there is any save data you need make a backup on your comp. You can put stuff from your psp to your comp by inserting a usb cable, and putting your psp into Usb mode.

You're gonna have to take a quick dive into homebrew to upgrade.
Download this: http://files.pspupdates.qj.net/cgi-bin/cfiles.cgi?0,0,0,0,40,1192
Put the 2 folders, applicationname and applicationname% into the /PSP/GAME folder.
Then from the PSP XMB launch WAB Version Changer and change your version number back to 1.5.
Quick question: Do you know what homebrew is, and have you heard of Devhook before?

and changing the version isnt downgrading. thats modifying the index.dat file to make it say its a higher firmware version. my version is like 13.37 or somethin to avoid having an update ran on it.

I decided to create the files into my psp and I put that thing that you asked me to download. when I went back onto my psp it said corrupted data under the memory stick.

Look there should be a GAME folder in the PSP folder wich is in the root of your memory stick.. Set the 2 folders in there..
