some of the pros?

the easy intaller really does make it easy, granted, it can be slightly scary your first time, as the downgrader only changes your firmware every once in ten times or so - either way tho, its highly unlikely to brick your psp.

pros of 1.5?

homebrew games/emulators and utility functions not possible on any other firmware.

with devhook, u can have all the brew of 1.5, but emulate the higher firmwares to play your UMD. or

if you like using backups, run iso/cso rips of your favorite games, or, if you are too lazy to backup manually, u can always download backups of your games though torrent.

1.5 is the best, the only con is the 0.0001% chance of bricking, it can happen, but you are having some REAL bad luck if it does.

what firmware do u currently have?

if i were you...

http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/605

thats a 2.5 downgrader... and it will downgrade you to 1.5 (the golden firmware)

as i suggest with all homebrew, read the instructions carefully, once u have pulled this off, go get devhook

http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/673

that will emulate a newer 2.71 firmware to play your current umd games on, it also plays your iso/cso files

***WARNING***
as always there is a chance of bricking, but its very very small as long as u follow the instructions by the book ;)

http://www.modchipstore.com/support/inde...kbarticleid=164

^ make sure u read this first as well, if your motherboard is ta-082, u cannot downgrade.
