Hi guys:
Does anybody know how to merge 2 sides of a DVD movie (or as a matter of fact any 2 DVD videos which together don't add up to more than 8-10Gb into 1 4.35 Gb back-up DVD?), using any free programs. I'll be thankful for any information in relation to this issue.

You can do it with DVD Shrink, but this way only movies can be combined - you lose menus and original disk structure. Otherwise you will have to use DvdReMake (which is not free).

If you have Nero you can also do it in their Vision Express program, which does a fairly good job, but is not free.

Hi dimad & arniebear:
Thanks for the input, maybe you guys could describe the procedure?
I tryed editing out a part in the middle of a movie with DVDShrink, but I ended up with two independent parts. The procedure that I followed I described it in this post (I don't post it again, to avoid any posibility of been banned:>)

Those two parts is one of the reazons why I am asking info into how to "MERGE" two independent units. I do not care if I loose the original estructure, as long the TWO PARTS can be put together and be played and behave as it would be ONE MOVIE played at once.
I'll be very thankful for any help in this regard.
Greetings
PS: I have Nero 6

Here is a guide on putting together a DVD compilation using clips but the method is the same for merging two DVD's. It is done with Shrink, however, remember it is movie only you will not have any menu.

DVDShrink and Recode do not actually merge, you will have 2 tiles and will notice a slight pause as your player goes from one to the other. Here is a way to actually take and make them 1 title.
