Official Thread for TIFF Homebrew

This thread is for all the people who want to get homebrew running on their 2.70?2.80 PSP.

What is TIFF Homebrew?

TIFF Homebrew are small homebrew apps/games that can be played using an exploit found in the Photo section of the XMB. They are fairly basic but you can already do things like change the font! See below for all the things possible.

What am I able to do with TIFF Homebrew?

With the TIFF Homebrew you can:
Play simple arcade games (they are getting better)
Change the font of the XMB
Browse/Edit the files on your memory stick, UMD, Flash0 and Flash1

How do I setup this homebrew?

To setup your homebrew, all you have to do is put the folder you get in the download in your PHOTO folder, exit USB Mode, scroll over to Photo and highlight your ?homebrew folder? (name of game) and press start. This is starting a slideshow but it is the safest way to start the homebrew.

Here is a full list of the homebrew available for 2.70-2.80

lovely guide!!!, that ascii space invaders looks funky.

cant be long until a downgrader - with more control over the flash - if files can be edited, surely that means there is potential to write to flash ;) lovely.

taken from psphacks.net

For those who don't know what this means, code that runs in kernel mode (i.e. the PSP OS/firmware) is protected by the PSP hardware (CPU). Code running in user mode (games, apps) cannot access memory used by the kernel.

Just out of interest, would this work with Devhook emulated firmware?

Hey I am Fairly new at this, but i am starting to get frustrated with not being able to play homebrew on my psp 2.8. so what i was thinking is that, could you not backwards engineer a 2.81 os and insert the installation files of a 1.5 so the psp thinks its getting 2.81 when actually it is getting 1.5? or could you get a 2.81 instillation file and a 1.5 installation file and create a file that after the psp has finished checking security etc. will stop the instillation of the 2.81 and start installing 1.5 at the same time just as the 2.81 was about to load?

sorry if that has all been tried i, as i said, am new to this and just suggesting a technique that i have seen work before. And sorry that my thread is not entirely realated.

Thanks James O.
