Hi there,

Before re-installing my operating system I wanted to backup the folders on my hard drive "Documents and Settings" and "Program Files" to a DVD, and when total size happen to exceed the standard 4.7GB size while dragging the files to DVD, I have changed the writer from from my NEC to Image Recorder in Nero and burt a nrg image of ~7GB as if I was writing a DVD9 to my slave hard drive.

After I have got the new operating system up and running, I was not able to read some of the files from the disk image that I have mounted back using Nero ImageDrive.

I have tried to mount the same nrg image using Daemon Tools, Alcohol, and even bougth an 8.5GB DVD+R burnt to it.

The result is the same; either I get the error "Cannot copy <filename>: The parameter is in correct." or empty/unreadable files are copied to my disk. My understanding (and isolation) of the problem is that the error is not generated for the files with irregular file names or very long paths but the place of the file on the disk. When it is some where past 4GB it is not readable (I guess).

God, I hate myself not having copied the files directly to the slave drive when there was enough space but created a dvd image. :doh:

Has anyone encountered the same error before and got a solution? Or, anybody to advice anything I have not tried.

Desperate to hear a solution. :sad:

Did you try extract the .nrg with e.g. IsoBuster?

Phew this is great! I reaaaly thank you very much. The free version of IsoBuster (v1.9.1) they allowed for downloadin at their site managed to extract all the files that I was not able to read without any problems to the desktop.
