I have what I am sure is a simple problem I can?t figure out. I have two ?Halloween? DVD?s I want to convert to mpg files and join to play through my media server.
1. I took each DVD the created an iso file
2. I demuxed each iso file using Rejig to its video/audio stream
3. I realized that one audio was AC3 and the other pcm so I converted both to AC3 and muxed them to mpg files
4. I then tried to join them using a variety of programs all of which either said the file types were different or if it worked it came out an unintelligible mpeg file
Any thoughts?

There are programs that let you rip dvds into mpegs directly (e.g. ImTooDVD Ripper), and there are programs that can join mpegs easily and reliably (e.g. Power Video Converter, Advanced X Video Converter).

After the demuxing, you can create a movie made of 2 'movie segments' in DVDLab.

The final DVD will consist in a movie which is like the 'perfect' multiplex of the two CDs which a chiapter placed in the transition point (between the end of CD1 and the beginning of CD2).

Obviously, only if the specification of each movie (resolution & fps) are the same....

aldaco12, thanks for your reply. What do you do if the files have different specs. How do you transcode them to the same spec to allow merging?

I resolved the problem in a very clean way. I used DVD Copy to create the mpg's from two iso files. I then used Pinnacle Studio 9, loaded each of the mpegs separately and let Pinnacle's engine convert the mpg. After this, loading into TPMGEnc was easy and it worked flawlessly. Thanks.
