Hello,

I've recently downloaded Azureus (and I'm all new to Bit Torrent) and I keep on getting this popup error everytime I start up Azureus.

It says: ERROR; uPnP: Mapping 'Incoming Peer Data Port (UDP/6881)' failed.

I'm not sure if this is common, or something is blocking it. But I do manage to download at speeds of about 15 KB/s - 30 KB/s.

I've read this guide:

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/335210#1962028

and I tried to follow the instructions But It doesn't seem to be working. I get average speeds of 20kB/s. :(

My current settings are as follows:

KB/s global max upload speed: 15
Per torrent max upload speed when busy timer: 30
KB/s global max download speed: 450
Max upload slots per torrent default: 4
Max connections per torrent default: 0
Max connections globally: 450

I also enabled:

Require encrypted transport: yes
Minimum encryption level: RC4

Are these settings correct (optimal)?

I've also got Norton Internet Security installed, but I've selected "permit all" for Azureus in the firewall configuration.

I've also configured my D-Link router with the Special Applications rules, I've allowed Ports 6881 - 6999 for both protocols UDP & TCP.

If anyone knows how to impove performance in Azureus, please tell me.

Thanking in advance,

disable upnp in the client. I'm not sure why they started shipping Azureus with it enabled...but turn it off since you've port forwarded.

Set global max download speed to 0. (unlimited)

Find a really nice fat torrent to download, like a linux distribution or something with a ton of seeders, and try again, report back and let us know.
