what is this i've been hearing about a modchip that you can get for psp that can unblock psp's? and run two versions of firmware on your psp aswell

igt mate....
i can help you as im from uk.......
u can just google untitle platinum....
its about 30POUND
to put it in you have to solder it in....its pretty simple...
u have to pay about 50pounds to have it done already,,,,
what the chip does is install another flash...
which means if you hold L button it will take you to another firmware....
it`s not worth buying if you have fw 1.5

so can i buy a 2.8 psp and it will work?
so is it where there is two fw's or where it can be a 2.8+ and it some how makes homebrew run.

yeh you can buy a 2.80 and do this.....
no it`s another fw which is normally 1.5...

i believe its because the epsilon bios piggybacks the sony firmware which allows you to boot iso's and such.

yeah with devhook. if you have 1.5 you can run devhook which emulates higher firmwares.

devhook fully emulates higher firmwares. In this example I will be using 2.71. When it begins the emulation of 2.71 you get everything that comes along with 2.71 including web browser, flash player, and the best part playing games that require higher firmware. The mod chip has a couple advantages like being able to re-flash or unbrick a psp, but it's spendy. Devhook is free. Devhook can only emulate up to 2.71 at this point tho. Booster (guy that created it) is supposedly working on a version that can run 2.8

dont get too excited about the UP becuase you cant just buy any PSP and put it in. It will not work with the Ta-082s which are in nearly every PSP you buy todaY.
