I have a dvd that sticks on the menu screen and only the audio tracks play when the dvd is started. I re authored the dvd and took the menus out, since I couldn't figure out how to fix this problem with IFO edit. I now need a program that I can create a menu with, and add the dvd files to like I have them now.

hey guyrus, thanks for the reply...I've now isolated the problem on the source disc. When I put it into DVD Shrink, it has two titles. now there is japanese and english audio. i want to keep both. the disc is already DVD5. It has been authored so that title 1 has the japanese audio, and title 2 has the english audio, however, both the audio streams are for both titles, So If I go to the subtitle menu and select "japanese with english subtitles" The video plays fine. because the english audio is on the second title is why the video won't start with english audio. I need to strip the audio from both video streams. So I'm thinking: Demultiplex the VTS files with dvdlab to create seperate mpv and AC3 streams. Then once I get to the point where I have the two seperate english and japanese AC3 streams. After that I'm lost. What should I do next?

Ok, I've figured out exactly what I need to do to fix the problem I'm having, which took me about 3 days troubleshooting everything. I just need to know how to do it now.
I have a dvd with 2 titles in the main movies. I have 2 AC3 audio streams, one for each title. One is Japanese language,. and the other is english language. The problem is the japanese language is assigned to the first title, and the english language is assigned to the second title. so when I press the "play all" button on the menu, the english audio starts, but the menu freezes and stays on the screen as a still image. If I go to the "setup" menu and change the settings to play in japanese with english subtitles, the main movie starts right up and I can watch it all the way through BOTH titles with the japanese audio stream playing. So, I've cooked up that if I assign the english AC3 stream to the first title as well, that the dvd will work fine when played in japanese or english. The only problem, I don't know how to do that.
I need to get the two seperate AC3 audio streams both assigned to the first title, or merge both the titles into one with both audio streams availaible on the main title. Help?

Since you can only listen to one audio track at a time. Why not do the movie on two discs. One with Japanese version and other English keeping all subtitles on both. OR just use a DL disc and make an exact copy.

Thanks for the input :) that's a great idea, except my aim is to keep everything on a single DVD5 disc, I think I have it figured out... I redecrypted the files without splitting the VOB files. then I demuxed all the streams on both titles, now I'm remuxing them with the english AC3 added to the first title. Than, to preserve the menu, I'll just replace the old VOBs with my newly remuxed VOBs, hope this works ^_^;;

Damn it, It didn't work. I decrypted the whole disc, which has 2 vts titles to 2 big VOB files. I then demuxed all the files to m2v and AC3 and sp1 streams. I then used ifo edit to author the dvd, and I added the english AC3 audio to the first title. I kept my original VIDEO_TS ifo, bup, and VOB file, and I kept the menu VOB. and I replaced the rest of the files with the newly remuxed vts title files. This fixed my problem with the audio. But it did not keep the menu. I'm assuming I lost the menu because I did not include it in the IFOEdit when i authored the dvd. How would I go about adding the menu? Please someone help, I'm at my wits end here.I think I found another solution using dvd lab, only problem is the two titles are in seperate resolutions. Anyone know how to convert the resolution of a dvd title? Tried with VobBlanker, it still says the resolution is the same in dvd lab

Since it's already ona DVD5 disc, then just copy the disc with ImgBurn or Decrypter using ISO files(both free) or DVD copy option in Nero.

garmoon, thanks for the input, but the source disc I have is faulty, so I can't just copy it. it has 2 VTS titles with dual language, english and japanese. only problem is that the two language streams are for the entirety of both titles, and the japanese is assigned to the first title, and the english is assigned to the second title. So when i try to play the dvd in english from front to back, the audio starts, but the menu freezes and no video plays. Play it in japanese, it plays fine. I fixed the problem with the audio and the playing by demuxing and then remuxing the appropriate streams to the appropriate places, however in doing so I lose the menu completely. I need the menu. I've about given up on this.
