I just got a new psp and I have all the downgrade files I have the EBOOT.PBP, Index.DAT, Overflow.-something :P and I have the H.bin file. Whenever I extract the MPH Downgrader McAfee detects h.bin as a trojan virus. Im not administrator so I can disable the virus scanner :( Is there another way to downgrade?

Just to let you know, it is not a virus. Ask the admin to diable it for the files to be let through.

you can upgrade to 2.71 and downgrade that way. a virus scanner should find anything

it'll show up even if u 'extract' it to the memstick?? just have to click on the McAAfee thing and click close, you can't do that?

Um I told you im not administrator, so no I cant close McAfee Viruscan. McAfee Viruscan is a very strong virus detector. It updates every week, and can find any virus. Therefore it knows that the Trojan thing can mess up your psp.

I just updated to 2.71 and im using dark_alex's downdater EXE. I finish installing the files then it says disconnect USB (i dont know who would be stupid enough to do that) so it let me into the downdater "go to the photo menu and a red screen should appear" instead, my psp froze on photo menu and I take the battery out and the psp is still going???

the downgrader only initisles probally 1 out of 10 times so ive heard so keep trying.

OK now it says "This image cannot be displayed-The data type is not supported"
