Hey guys

Just got my PSP today and its charging right now

1. The guy at the store where i bought it from told me to leave it charge for 6 hours the first time. Should i do this, or just leave it for the 2 hours and 20 mins the guide says (my charging led is already off)

2. Is there any way i can convert a DVD (With at least one set of subtites) to PSP format so it can fit the PSP screen and play with the subs (No need for the menu if thats too hard) . I know how to rip a retail dvd to a DVD-R which plays the movie (without the menu) but still has the subs.. And what will i need ? 1GB card? or is 128MB enough for i movie but in perfect quality?

Thanks

i recommend either a 2 or 4 gb and you will first need DVD Shrink then dvd ripper and take the rip file and convert it either in psp video9 program or psp max manager

For a While i have escaped time but to return when they need you most to come back on a vendetta like a have thats just simply MAGIC!

I will get a card soon. I have DVD Shrink.. What about the Subtitles.. And will the quality and sound be the same as the quality of an UMD Movie? And what about the controls? Will they work the same?

Thanks

Quailty wont be as good as a UMD, but you can get close to it.
X264 and MeGUI is the best for converting with Xvid4PSP following second.
The best way to watch movies on a PSP is to downgrade (if you can) to V1.50 and use Jonnys PMPMOD AVC which plays 480x272 AVC (H264) movies on your V1.50.
Sony restricted their native player to 76800 pixels (or there abouts) so the resolution isnt great.
But with Jonnys PMPMOD you can play at 130560 pixels. ;P

No not at all mate, but 2.80+ works ait differently.
With V2.80+ your no longer restricted in calling your movies M4V or MAQ instead you can name them what you want.
Also the movies dont have to be encoded with specific headers in order to work.
These movies also DO NOT go in the MP_ROOT folder, they go into a folder called VIDEO inside the PSP folder.
Taking into consideration that you are (or sound) really new to this i would suggest that you use XVID4PSP its laid out really well and very easy to use even for beginners.

So can you give me a step to step of what to do ?

Im assuming :

1. Rip DVD through DVD-Shrink
2. Use the software to encode and send to MS card

What about the subtitles? I dont need a menu but i want subs to watch a movie

Subtitles have to be done a completly and more complicated way.
But your right with DVD Shrink, its actually comes with Xvid4PSP.

Just ignore it, you wont be encoding with DivX. You will be using X264.
