I am looking at getting a Gigabyte m55plus s3g motherboard.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813128010

I already own an Aspire 500w Power supply. I bought it a few years back but never used it. It has a 20 pin connector.

I think this link is still the exact power supply I bought a few years back.

Will I be able to use this psu with the new motherboard?

the picture of the boatd shows a 20 pin plus a 4 pin which your psu has but the text on the 20 pin motherboard connector says 24 which i think is a typo error. so go for it

Here is a link to the PDF Manual.
http://america.giga-byte.com/FileList/Ma...5plus_s3g_e.pdf

Page 7 shows the board and it shows 24 pin.

Now from page 19 of manual.

If you use a 24-pin ATX power supply, please remove the small cover on the power connector
on the motherboard before plugging in the power cord ; otherwise, please do not remove it.

So even though this is a 24 pin motherboard I should be able to use a 20 pin psu?
