I need a software program to covert AVI,wmv,to mpeg please help I'm using Nero to burn.can anyone out there help please

You could try WinAVI. It gives excellent results and there's a (watermarked) trial period so you know what you're getting.

If using Nero to burn why not use NeroVision Express to do your converting before the burn? I always open NeroVision Express and choose make DVD then select my file to convert. Instead of following along the rest of the way to finalize the movie, click the export button at the bottom of the screen and you will have a few options of what type of file you want to convert it to. It is easy once you've done it once or twice. I just did it last week and posted a video of my band at youtube
