I have been trying to back up copies of my games for about 6 months now and have only got a few to work, I am using Swap Magic 3.6 and a slide tool. I have tried burning at every possible speed as well as using good media ( verbatim and sony ), DVD Decrypter and all the disks are - format. I have run out of ideas to try now. Also i am using a Lite-on dvd rewriter. Any ideas?

thanks for including all the information needed... hmm your ps2 laser might not be as strong as it once was...

my friend's (1) playstation 2 can only play certain backups...

well my other friend (2) just bought a brand new ps2, and all the games i made for friend 1 i gave to friend 2...

and they work perfectly.. you can just buy a replacement laser, or if you have a EBGames.. sell them your ps2 and put it towards a new one =]

also make sure you lock the ps2 with the slide tool.. this has been a problem many times before...

find out what version it is... use google to see how to find your ps2 version (V1 - 14)

also google can help for the replacement laser for your ps2..

hope it helped

I get my back-ups from my friend who does them on a white topped disks with no logo so i am not sure what they are, but they work all the time. Where as mine never do! I've seen some white topped taiyo yuden on ebay so it may be them. I live in the UK so its difficult to get alot of stuff.

DONT ever get media from Ebay there are a few genuine sellers there but most of them sell cheap knockoffs that arent worth anything. Put your friends backups into your computer and see what DVDdecryptor says about the DISCID and booktype. As you have a liteon drive you can most likely booktype, get some DVD+R (those Verbs and Sony are good) and change the bitsettings in Decryptor.

Bitsetted/booktyped DVD+R work better than DVD-R.

Red box is the booktype that the current disc is. Green box is where you need to click to set booktyping.

EDIT: wrong link.
